Abstrak

Pemberian Air Susu Ibu (ASI) pada dua tahun pertama kehidupan bayi meningkatkan kesehatan, pertumbuhan, perkembangan dan kecerdasan anak, serta memberi perlindungan terhadap berbagai penyakit. Namun demikian, seringkali dijumpai berbagai hambatan, baik dari sisi ibu maupun kurang optimalnya peran tenaga kesehatan dalam memberikan perawatan untuk ibu postpartum, sehingga target pemberian ASI secara dini dan eksklusif untuk bayi belum tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, mengevaluasi dan mensintesis literatur mengenai metode-metode massage dan pengaruhnya terhadap produksi ASI dan depresi ibu postpartum. Dengan menggunakan metode literature review, artikel-artikel penelitian ditelusur di database Pubmed dan GARUDA untuk artikel yang terbit tahun 2013-2023 dengan menggunakan kata kunci: massage, milk production, breast milk, breastfeeding, postpartum. Hasil penelusuran awal ditemukan 122 artikel, dan setelah dilakukan pengecekan dan appraisal, terdapat 22 artikel yang relevan untuk diakukan review. Terdapat berbagai jenis metode massage pada ibu postpartum efektif untuk meningkatkan produksi ASI, dan yang paling banyak dilakukan adalah pijat oksitosin, baik hanya pijat oksitosin saja maupun dikombinasikan dengan teknik lain seperti acupressure, pijat marmet, pijat oketani, terapi music maupun pemijatan dengan menggunakan lavender essential oil. Massage yang dilakukan pada ibu postpartum akan membuat ibu merasa nyaman, mengurangi depresi dan sensasi nyeri, membuat tubuh lebih rileks, menurunkan hormone stress, meningkatkan hormone prolactin dan oksitosin, serta meningkatkan produksi ASI. Pemijatan yang dilakukan sebanyak dua kali sehari (pagi dan sore) dengan durasi 10-15 menit atau 30-60 menit selama 3-14 hari efektif untuk meningkatkan produksi ASI ibu postpartum dan menurunkan depresi.
